Great Springbreak at the lakehouse....we had different friends come out thru-out the week and it was so much fun....Thank You Delgado, Payne, Grimm, Mamori, Bowers and Holcomb Families! It was a week not to be forgotten. It was also fun to hook-up with the Almendarez, Belden and Snape families who were also down at Horseshoe Bay for the week. Loved that my amazing Sis-in-law came down for a day with John and Baby Brooklyn. Also, Miles had his crew down for a few days....watching 9 teenagers play board games was quite a treat.
I loved reconnecting with good friends and having quality time with my family. We ate yummy food, listened to old school country and enjoy various beverages. 8 days of paradise.

There is no such thing as a bad day at the lake!

Week Two and Mack was so excited to go back.....cute Mack and Mercedes before going in. I still love the fact that the girls have to wear white gloves!

Since Miles did this program from 4th thru 8th grade, they have asked him to come back and be a Student Instructor. Don't get me wrong, he fought me on it (guess who won?) but once he got there he had fun...he gets paid and it looks great on your resume when applying to colleges. Mack thought it was cool that her big brother was there too!

Five weeks of etiquette lessons and dance instruction......started tonight...Mack was so excited about getting new dresses ans straightening her hair. I think she looked beautiful

The best part was Macks Friend TREY BELLER signed up for the classes as well. Trey was Mack's first friend in Pre-school and even though they go to different schools they have always stayed in touch....tooooo cute!

OH and PS....Love the girls get to wear white gloves...!

Miles is a graduate of this same program he went 4th grade thru 8th grade...and it warms my heart that he still remembers all the dance steps, which fork to use and that you never pass the salt without passing the pepper. (I even learned that one!)

Family Tree....again, not matchy-matchy department store looking....each of my ornaments has a story behind it. I get one every year that represents something special the kids did or something they were in involved in, others are from fun ornament exchanges with my dear friends, or from places we have traveled or ones i have just fallen in love with and remind me of those i love.

I did a mini-tree in Big D's "Man Room" . This is the room that has the over stuffed (really worn out) Leather Recliner, a bar and of course a TV...I created a lil fun Bar Tree on top of the Bar....I get so many cute bar related ornaments as gifts at my martini party it was easy to fill it and decorate.

She received an email from Frank Fontana, the host of Design on a Dime to see if she was interested..of course she said YES! She even overnighted her soaps to 30 Rockefeller Center (YES.. 30 Rock as they say on TV) to use on the segment.

Look for her in the 4th hour with Kathy Lee.

T's Taco Soup

I posted on FB that I was making Taco Soup this week. I have had several emails asking for the recipe...So here it is.....

1 1/2 Ground Sirloin Beef

1 large onion (chopped)

1 package of Taco Seasoning

1 Package of Hidden Valley Ranch Mix

1 can of Black Beans (do not drain)

1 Can of Whole Kernel Corn with Juice

1 Can of Chicken Broth

One Can of Diced Tomatoes

1 Can of Pinto Beans

Brown meat and add in chopped onion. Add in the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve over chips, add cheese and an avocado wedge to the top and you have a yummy soup for a cold day.

I love making this soup for my family and all those who I love.

I love to have a big crock pot ready for Christmas Day for us to munch on throughout the day while the kids are playing with their gifts from Santa.

I will be posting my Christmas Mornin' Casserole in a couple of days....it's a breakfast tradition that Miles and Mack have grown up with and Mack has even mentioned that she will make it for her children one day. (Love That Gurl!)

On Sunday, Mack's Hip Hop Group performed before the play Beauty and the Beast at Woodlawn Theater. She and the gurls did incredible. If you have a chance to check out the play, it was amazing. It was a great way to spend Sunday with my family.
